Plants for the People is a workers-centric theme that focuses on the wellbeing of regular folk when it comes to what we grow, eat, smoke, infuse and enjoy. Our Earth provides all we need to thrive, and cultivating resistance by strengthening our connection to nature is what 4/20 is all about.

More 2025 FF dates coming very soon.

What to expect

Each FF market is an mostly indoor experience, with a small amount of porch space, weather permitting. Other goodies to expect include a live set from DJ Lava Lamp, spinning beats at a beautifully moderate volume, a rotating list of food trucks, local coffee and croissant providers Whisk & Rye to keep you caffeinated, take a load off and enjoy vintage movies and cartoons playing on the big screen in the theater, each market incluedes an ever-changing themed photo booth courtesy of photographer Jess Crugar, and last but certainly not least fabulous cocktails + mocktails in the basement at Club Era, Durham's own Gay, Queer, Trans (and beyond) nightclub and bar.

WHAT IS THE FRUIT?

Voted Durham's ‘Best Kept Secret’ and the Triangle’s ‘Best Place to Dance,’ The Fruit is located at 305 south Dillard St. in Durham N.C. An unique arts warehouse like no other that hosts an ever rotating group of experimental artists and musicians. The home of The Fruit Flea, formerly known as the Durham Fruit and Produce Company, a century ago this 22,000sf warehouse complex housed giant coolers for fruits and veggies arriving by train. Furthermore, The Fruit is a safe space by promoting norms that help our audiences and artists enjoy their time with us.  We want people here to be their full, authentic, human selves. Thus our norms include consent for physical contact, respect for pronouns, and banning phobic or threatening speech.
